Bet on Horse Racing Classics

Bet on Horse With bet365 BookmakersThe flat season is the richest of all the horseracing seasons anywhere in the world. With the warm weather comes the money and The Horse Racing Classics are the height of prestige and glamour in the horseracing calendar worldwide. The Classics are for three-year old horses only, this being an age when horses are considered to be at peak-form. The Classics are the most elite of all horse races and there are five classics during the Flat horseracing season.

The first of the five Classic horseracing events is the 2,000 Guineas stakes at Newmarket racecourse during the first week of May. It’s the first chance for trainers to show off their steeds and often the very first time many new horses have come of age in time for the race. It’s also the first chance punters get to see many horses and it’s a good time to put your money on an outsider, check out some of the odds at William Hill and see if you can make your money on a horse just making its name.

Next up is the 1,000 Guineas stake, also held at Newmarket racecourse. This event is the newest ‘classic’ in the horseracing calendar, first run in 1814. Run the day after the 2,000 Guineas the 1,000 is open to three-year old fillies only.

By the beginning of June, the weather has warmed up and the horseracing world is ready for Epsom’s Ladies Day and with that come two of the biggest events in the horseracing calendar. It’s the Oaks and the Derby, back-to-back. Dating back to the late 1700’s, the Epsom racecourse offers the ultimate test but like the Newmarket races the Oaks is open to fillies only. The Derby on the other hand is the ultimate flat race, the biggest flat horseracing event in the world and is without a doubt the one horserace everyone wants to win. This is the biggest flat race for punters and a good chance to earn some money at online bookmakers such as Betfair where you can place and lay bets on your fancies for the day.

Closing the flat racing season is the final ‘Classic’ event in the horseracing calendar, the St Leger. This race is the oldest event in the horseracing calendar, dated back to 1776 and is held at Doncaster. It’s the last big event in the horseracing calendar before the flat season ends and a final splurge of summer for many horseracing fans.

That’s the horse races, now all you have to do is predict the winners.
